Our search for a better way to manage cat allergens began with an unexpected key player: alpacas! Inspired by their unique immune systems, we developed nanobodies that have the remarkable ability to exclusively bind to Fel d 1 without affecting cats or people.

A Story Rooted In Love

Pacagen’s journey began with love at first sight. When Dr. Evan Zhao and Dr. Siyang Han welcomed their British Shorthair, Miaomiao, into their lives, their joy was quickly met with a challenge—Siyang’s allergies. Determined not to choose between her health and Miaomiao, Evan, a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, turned to his expertise. The discovery of nanobodies that neutralize allergens provided the answer.

The result? A cat allergen spray, safe for pets and people. “Now, we can enjoy Miaomiao without worry—and that’s what I want for every pet family,” Evan shares.

Definitely! We made sure to use a completely pet-friendly approach when creating our formulas. Each part of the formula was hand-picked to be safe for everyone, four-legged or not, involved. However, it’s best to avoid spraying directly onto cats – mainly because cats usually don’t like getting wet. On top of that, the allergen-neutralizing nanobodies are always manufactured to food-grade standards.

The nanobodies are proteins, so they are subject to degradation when dissolved in tap water, as minerals and impurities can disturb the nanobodies’ structure. The Stabilizing Solution is formulated to preserve the nanobodies’ structure as long as possible without hampering its neutralizing properties.

We don't currently make a scent-free version. However, the scents included in our Allergen Neutralizing Powder are very mild and are included in very small quantities. Most customers report that the scent is close to unnoticeable after spraying.

Our products use the latest developments in biotechnology to provide you with a safe, pure, and environmentally friendly solution to your allergies. Internal testing found that our nanobodies are capable of neutralizing up to 98% of Fel d 1. Other products on the market are only able to neutralize up to 50% of Fel d 1. On top of that, our products are incredibly safe to use and are non-invasive to you and your pet’s routine.

The nanobodies don't expire, but they are most effective within 1 month of dissolving in distilled water. However, if you dissolve the nanobodies in our Stabilizing Solution, it'll be effective for up to 2 months.

Spraying frequency depends on a lot of factors, including how much Fel d 1 your cat produces, how severe your allergies are, and how sensitized your immune system is. We recommend starting out by spraying once every 2 days, then increasing or decreasing the frequency depending on if your symptoms are still present.

This works! I'm a cat lady and living proof!

I have cats, dogs and seasonal allergies. I was skeptical to try these products but the science was there. I cleaned and washed everything and started using the sprays - the cat, the dog and the allergen.....WOW! I do not know how to describe the effect! There has been a significant drop in my symptoms, in fact they only come back a few days after spraying. I have used the product long enough to spray every few days, after a few days my symptoms would come back so I knew I had to spray again and each time my symptoms decreased immensely. TRY IT! I just enrolled in the "auto" ship today for all three!

Give it time

This is a slow starting product. I thought it would work super fast. It is worth the wait. Give it a few weeks for the cat topper and spray to kick in. Allergies reduced by 30% and I have not used it that long.

Great solution to allergies

I use the pet fur roller first and then liberally spray the bed down with Pacagen. This has greatly reduced my allergies and now I am able to change my sheets once a week instead of 3! My cat sleeps with us despite dr recommendations- but she is 17 and I can't close the door on her! Pacagen has helped me and my fur-baby!

Really helped!

My daughter is allergic and she was miserable when she came home to visit until we started using this spray. She said it really helped!
